Scholarship Chairs
Congratulations you have been elected or appointed to work with you chapter or council on its academic success. Part of your responsibility as scholarship chair is to:
- promote academic excellence within your chapter
- attend regular training sessions conducted by the Academic Advising Center and the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Affairs. These training sessions may be in addition to any scholarship roundtables that are conducted by your council scholarship director/committee chair
- reward chapter members who are excelling academically
- provide resource for chapter members who are currently below your chapter/University grade requirement

Council Scholarship Directors/Committee Chairs
Three of the four councils have appointed scholarship directors/committee chairs to assist scholarship chairs in their endeavors. The scholarship directors/committee chairs are responsible for:
- promoting scholarship within the council
- actively searching for scholarship opportunities for council members
- actively recruiting members for Order of Omega
- help coordinate the Florida Greek Progressive Dinner

Counseling Center

The UF Counseling Center offers a number of academic and career resources. Students can partake in career counseling if they need help choosing a major and making career decisions. The Counseling Center website also offers Self-Help resources where students can information on academic and career concerns via their website at http://www.counsel.ufl.edu/selfHelp.asp.
Learning Services Center

The Learning Services Center was created by the Academic Advising Center in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) to provide students the opportunity to improve their study skills, prepare for various tests, and learn more about the various majors and career options available to CLAS students. The Learning Services Center is a walk-in center, available to all UF students with a Gator1 card, and appointments are not necessary. The LSC contains a wise selection of videos, audio cassettes, CD-ROMs, and books on study skills, note taking, reading, writing, test taking, motivation, time management, stress management, and more. Workshops are also available, including workshops geared toward pre-health and pre-law students.
Office of Academic Support & Institutional Services (OASIS)

The Office of Academic Support and Institutional Services (OASIS) in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is responsible for coordinating all activities for students of color within the College. OASIS is comprised of three divisions. Through the combined efforts of its staff, OASIS provides academic advising, tutoring, and counseling assistance to specially admitted students as well as other undergraduate students of color.
Reading and Writing Center

The Reading and Writing Center is a component of the Office of Academic Technology. The Center offers instruction in reading and writing. Activities include:
- independent, non-credit work
- a drop-in writing clinic
- free mini-courses dealing with specific reading, writing, or test-taking skills
- free workshops designed to prepare students for professional examinations
- remediation for reading, English language skills, and essay subtests of the College Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST)
Teaching Center

The Teaching Center provides free tutoring and study skills advisement to all UF students. Depending on the semester, tutoring is offered in these and other subject areas: accounting, economics, mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics, astronomy and statistics.
Tutoring is also offered for a variety of engineering courses. Systematic review programs for the computation portion of the CLAST and GRE are also available.
