  • Tips to Prepare for Finals
    Albert and Alberta

Ack, finals are coming! With final exams, students have two goals. First, you want to ace the exams, or at least get decent grades and do as well as possible. Second, there's your sanity; you want to get through exams with a minimum of stress and test anxiety. Fortunately, with the right study skills techniques, you can both manage your stress and do well on the tests. Here are some study skills tips for final exams to help you do well and stay sane.

    • Time management: Before exams begin, get out your calendar and schedule as much of your finals week as possible.
    • Schedule in study breaks: Don't study non-stop for the next week, include short study breaks to help you recharge.
    • Schedule in sleep: You'll do much better during exams if your mental state is good, and sleep is essential for this.
    • Exercise: There's no better source for stress relief.
    • Prioritize: You have a limited time to study and will have to choose what to spend the most time with.
    • Form effective study groups: Just don't waste your time with lousy ones.
    • Free your schedule: Eliminate other possibilities as much as possible.
    • Ask your professor for help: If you are confused about your notes or readings, ask for help.
    • Keep things in perspective: Excessive stress will make you crazy and hurt your performance on tests, so as much as you can, relax!

Alpha Epsilon Pi Construction is Underway

After a few initial problems with the schedule of construction on the Alpha Epsilon Pi house, things are finally underway. The house was demolished on Friday, December 1, 2006. If you have any questions regarding the construction please contact Arthur Portnoy at publix86@ufl.edu.

Chapter Roster Update Due: Wednesday, December 6

It is time to update the chapter roster for fall 2006 grades. This process is very important for Florida Greek Standards and must be done on or before Wednesday, December 6, 2006.

Log into the database at www.union.ufl.edu/involvement using your Gatorlink username and password.

If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact Chris Bullins at 846-3171 or bullins@ufl.edu.

    Second Annual Santa's Visit
    Happy holiday

On Wednesday, December 6, 2006, the ladies of Kappa Delta along with the gentlemen of Lambda Chi Alpha will be hosting over 60 children from Alachua county. They have been invited to the Lambda Chi Alpha house to celebrate the holiday season. The children will have the opportunity to make candy covered gingerbread houses, decorate holiday stockings and ornaments, and meet Santa Claus. Along with the arts and crafts, there will be holiday music and movies for everyone to enjoy.

    Change of Officer Form

Please remember that officer changes must be updated on the involvement website. If a President, Treasurer and/or faculty advisor has changed, a change of officer form must be turned in to the Center for Student Involvement by the organization President. Once the form is turned in, the President will be able to update officers online.

Retraction: Outstanding Chapter President of the Year Award

In the November 27, 2006 edition of the Florida Greek 411 the Outstanding Chapter President Award winners were not accurate. The correct winners are Brian Towers of Lambda Chi Alpha, Charlene Liu of Theta Nu Xi, Lisa Clark of Alpha Kappa Alpha, and Jessica Prescott of Delta Gamma. Congratulations to all of the winners and once again we apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
