    Charlene

Charlene Liu is a senior at the Univeristy of Florida majoring in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism. As a member of Theta Nu Xi Multlicultural Sorority, Incorporated she has served this University on many levels. She was a founder of her chapter on June 4, 2005. She has since served as President, National Representative, and Week Chair for Theta Nu Xi.

This year she has also taken on the position of Programming Director for the Multicultural Greek Council. Through this position she is responsible for planning the educational and social functions of all MGC organizations. She also planned and directed the Annual Showcase event.

When asked what being a Florida Greek means to her, Liu replied, "To me, being Greek at UF is knowing how huge of an impact Greek life has on the UF community, the Gainesville community and even its own members. Whether through community service, various leadership positions or participation in university-sponsored events, the University of Florida can always count on Florida Greeks to be there in mind, heart, and spirit. Go Gators!"

    Panhellenic New Member Conference

The Panhellenic New Member Conference was held yesterday in the Auditorium. Fifteen members from each chapter were required to attend. The forum was designed to answer questions and give pointers to the new members about things every sorority women wished they would have known at the begining.

The event was broken down into three-45 minute sessions. The sessions included PC history, a Greek history panel, body image and nutrition, business etiquette, resume building, involvement on campus, leadership styles, and time managemet.

The night concluded with a wrap up and a raffle. Each attendee was also given a drawstring backpack.

Do you have something to add to the 411?

The Office of Sorority and Fraternity Affairs would like to hear from you, the Greek community. Please send us any information or articles you would like to see highlighted in the 411. The information should be sent to ajaroch@union.ufl.edu by Thursday evening the week before you would like to see it published.
